Mommy's Touch One-Size Nappies (older style): Instructions for use.

Added 17th of November 2008

Older Style Mommy's Touch One-Size Pocket Nappies

These are designed to fit from birth to potty training (8-35lb)

These have since been re-designed. The newer ones do look easier to use, but I don't have any of them myself. I bought a few of the older style ones second hand. I find them great in the larger setting, but they are quite complicated on the smaller (in my opinion!). I haven't tried these on a tiny baby, so don't know how effective they are with explosive poo! If anyone would like to leave a review in the forum, I would be very interested to read it!

These aren't adjusted before stuffing with inserts and putting on the baby (unlike the height adjustment on Wonderoos). The adjustments are all done during the nappy change. There are two rows of popper across the front that adjust both the rise (height) and the waist. There are 2 adjustments for the height.

Smaller setting: Small rise and waist.

Put baby on the changing mat and place the back of the Mommy's Touch nappy at waist level. Fasten the top row of poppers on the left wing to the bottom row on the front of the nappy.

Overlap wings. Fasten top right wing popper to nappy, then the remaining wing poppers together (wings are overlapped).

Fold top of nappy down and fasten the top rows of poppers to the middle popper set on wings. The fleece lining of the nappy should be showing at the front.

Medium Setting: Small rise, but a larger waist and leg than the small setting.

Fasten top row of poppers on wings to the bottom row of poppers on the nappy. (Do either side first)

Fold the top of the nappy down. The fleece lining of the nappy should be showing at the front.

Fold up bottom corners and fasten them to top row of waist poppers. This adjusts the legs.

Larger setting

The 2 poppers on the wings fasten to the 2 rows of poppers at the front of the nappy. There shouldn't be any fleece showing at the front.

Pocket nappies, remember, don't need a separate wrap, and absorbency is added by stuffing with inserts. Unlike the Wonderoos, these are stuffed before being adjusted. On the smaller and medium setting, the inserts should be placed towards the back of the nappy, so that the front part can be folded down. On the larger setting, the inserts should go from back to front. Make sure that any boosters/ inserts are laid flat inside the nappy to reduce leaks.

I hope you find these instructions useful, If you have anything that you feel would be helpful to add, please let me know and I will add it to the article. If you are having problem with these, or any other nappies, please contact me and I will try and help you. Be warned though- I'm not a pocket person!! You can of course ask a question in the nappysite forum.
