I have these nappies, I have the rainbow ones because I love the idea of choosing which colour to wear each day. Anything to increase the level of conversation when it's just me and the lo!!
I like these. I have the aplix (velcro) ones although I think I'd have prefered the fasten free variety but they didn't have them at the shop. The velcro sticks to things in the washer and they all stick to each other, despite the fact they have a special fold over bit to stop it happening. Having said that, my ds is VERY wriggly while changing so I suppose the velcro is better.
I also think that they are much slimmer than the cloth ones which is nice. Although I hear they take longer to dry because they are so absorbant, but I tumble mine (watch while the purists scream at me).
They also have a built in booster which is fine, but a bit long for the nappy, but it can be folded. Apparently you're supposed to fold it in the front for boys, but when DS was smaller and on his back all the time the wee seemed to seep to the back anyway so I just put it across the whole nappy. Now he's crawling I suppose I should try refolding it.
I use them with Motherease airflow wraps, not because I don't like TB wraps cos I've never tried them, just because they were recommended.
They're sized so you need to buy bigger ones as they get bigger so they're not as cheap as some Birth to potty packs. Although you can buy the bigger size and fold them over for a BTP effect. (Maybe that only works with the fasten free variety though, not sure)
Anyway, I'd buy them again, so if that's anything to go by....! |

| Do you think that Bamboozle size 2 would fit a 35lb baby? Tots Bots original size 2 fasten free are meant to go up to 40lb, but they don't (or mine wouldn't). Could you use a Bamboozle size 2 as a birth to toddler nappy? |

My baby is only 21lb so it's hard to say. Round the waist maybe, but the waist to groin distance is a bit tight, if I'm not careful he could get a builder's bum. But then maybe that dimension doesn't grow much!
As for Birth to Potty (BtP), I can't see how the aplix ones can be used birth to potty, so it'd have to be a nippa one. Not sure. As I said in the cotton thread, I think my cotton nippa ones have shrunk in the wash so hat would make BtP unlikely. I don't think the bamboo ones have shrunk as much |

| I like these nappies but they just take too long to dry so I only have a few. They seem to be very absorbant and I like the feel of the bamboo, but I prefer the Bambinex bamboo nappies as they dry a lot quicker (although they still take longer than cotton nappies). |

One of the things I love about Bamboozles is that you can dry them on a radiator without them going hard and crusty like cotton towelling does.
Also bamboo is a more eco-friendly choice than cotton as needs less irrigation to grow and does not require intensive treatment with pesticides like non-organic cotton.
I believe the size 2s are for up to 32lbs and that seems to be about the right cut off point for my son, but obviously it will depend a bit on the shape of your baby!
I bought my size 2s secondhand and my son has had over 18 months wear from them. I am fairly hopeful that they will do another child as well, but will have to see if they are worth passing on to someone else after that!! |
